TERMS OF USE

Clear terms for using VULT.

The terms for using VULT’s apps, website and membership. They explain what the service does, your choices and the consumer rights that remain yours.

1. Using the service

These terms apply to VULT’s apps, getvult.club, app.getvult.club and related account services. “VULT”, “we” and “us” refer to the service and its operator. For service or operator enquiries, contact [email protected]. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement.

By creating an account, subscribing or using the app after being given an opportunity to read these terms, you agree to them to the extent a valid agreement is formed under applicable law. The Privacy Policy explains information handling; reading it or accepting these terms is not blanket consent to every possible use of personal information. Mandatory consumer and privacy rights take priority over any inconsistent term.

2. What VULT provides

VULT provides personal budgeting, transaction tracking, receipt and supported statement processing, accounts, goals, debt planning, recurring money, reports, shared budgets, Finance Manager and habit-building features. Budget periods include weekly, fortnightly, monthly and yearly. Available features depend on your platform, installed version, permissions, connectivity and membership.

VULT does not connect to your bank, hold deposits, move money between bank accounts or execute investments. An account balance in VULT reflects the information recorded there; it is not a live bank balance. A transfer or recurring entry records a money move in your budget rather than instructing a bank to make it.

3. Tools, estimates and financial decisions

VULT’s calculators, projections, Financial Score, property estimates, articles and AI explanations are general tools and information. They are not a personal financial plan or a substitute for qualified financial, credit, investment, tax or legal advice. VULT Financial Score is not a credit-bureau score; property estimates are not valuations; a PDF export is not a certified accounting or tax report.

Check important figures against original records and obtain appropriate professional help for decisions that depend on your circumstances. Future rates, costs, income and results can differ from a projection. XP, streaks, achievements and tree growth recognise app activity, not financial returns. These explanations do not limit our obligation to provide the service with the care and skill required by law.

4. Your account and records

Keep your account information accurate and protect your device, email and authentication details. Use your own account rather than sharing passwords or one-time codes. Notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are not automatically responsible for every unauthorised act merely because it appears under your account; responsibility depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

Only enter or upload information you are entitled to use. Check dates, amounts, categories, duplicates and transfers before saving an import or automated draft. Keep original statements and appropriate backups or exports. Local storage can be lost when a device is replaced, reset or cleared; cloud sync is not a guarantee that every local change has already been backed up.

5. Finance Manager and automated features

Finance Manager is AI-assisted. It uses selected saved budget information and conversation context to answer questions and can propose an expense or income draft. Nothing from a proposed money move is added until you choose Review and add, inspect the normal entry form and save it. Automated outputs may be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your circumstances.

Signed-in members have 30 successful Finance Manager replies per local day across private and household requests. Failed requests do not count as a successful reply. Clearing the private thread does not reset the allowance. The private thread keeps the latest 60 messages and up to 12 memory items; Start a fresh thread clears private history and memory without resetting your budget. Household conversations are separate.

Receipt extraction, statement categorisation, daily briefs, Financial Score narratives and property lookup can also use automation or AI. Check results and source information before relying on them. Do not use these features to submit secrets, impersonate someone, bypass security or generate unlawful or abusive content. Cloud processing is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Setup and introductory access

Setup can include adding a real first expense manually or scanning a receipt before membership checkout. The saved entry stays with the staged budget when setup is completed. Onboarding scanning is not an ongoing free tier or a subscription trial.

Current onboarding scan limits are 2 starts per device, 6 per network per day and 200 globally per day. Limits and temporary processing failures may make scanning unavailable; manual entry remains an alternative. Temporary scan results expire after 7 days. Any separate subscription trial or introductory offer must be shown by the billing provider with its eligibility, duration, renewal price and cancellation terms before you accept it.

7. Membership, prices and renewal

VULT’s listed membership prices are A$3.99 per month or A$34.99 per year. Pricing and the checkout identify the plan offered to you. Read the final currency, total price, billing interval, applicable taxes and any introductory conditions before confirming. Store prices or offers may differ; these terms do not authorise undisclosed charges.

Web subscriptions are handled through Stripe. iPhone subscriptions are handled through Apple’s App Store. Where another supported store provides billing, its checkout identifies the provider and terms. VULT receives purchase confirmations and membership status, not your complete payment-card details.

Subscriptions renew for the selected period unless you cancel in time under the billing provider’s process. A monthly equivalent quoted for an annual plan does not mean monthly instalments. Keep the purchase receipt and check which account and provider were used. A price increase will not be applied retrospectively to an already paid period; material future price changes must be disclosed before they take effect, with an opportunity to stop renewal.

8. Cancelling a subscription

You can stop future renewals through the provider that billed you. Open the billing controls in your VULT account, use the Stripe customer portal for a web subscription, or manage the subscription through your Apple Account for an App Store purchase. For another supported store, use that store’s subscription controls. The provider’s confirmation shows the cancellation date and any remaining access period.

Uninstalling the app, signing out, clearing a budget or deleting a VULT account does not by itself cancel a provider’s recurring charge. Cancel renewal separately and keep the confirmation. If you cannot reach the cancellation controls, contact support with your account email and purchase reference; never send your full card details.

The ordinary provider process does not restrict any right to cancel immediately or by another reasonable method when applicable consumer law gives you that right. You can contact VULT directly about a service problem even if an app store processed the payment.

9. Refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies consumer guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law. In particular, relevant services must be supplied with due care and skill, be fit for a purpose made known and reasonably relied on, and be supplied within a reasonable time where no time is agreed.

If a service has a major failure, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the affected or unprovided part, or keep the service and receive compensation for its reduced value. For a remediable minor failure, we are generally entitled to a reasonable opportunity to fix it without charge. If it is not fixed within a reasonable time, further remedies may be available. You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by a failure. The remedy depends on the facts and the law.

Changing your mind or simply stopping use does not automatically create a statutory refund right. Any additional refund policy or offer made at purchase will be honoured according to its terms. There is no blanket “no refunds” rule in these terms.

Contact [email protected] with the purchase reference, provider, dates and a description of the issue. A provider may need to process the payment reversal, but that does not remove VULT’s responsibilities or require you to give up statutory rights. For more information, see the ACCC’s remedies guidance.

10. Shared budgets, chat and public feedback

Invite only people you intend to share a budget with. Accepted household participants can see the shared plan and relevant conversations. Check the destination before posting a private purchase or question. You must have authority to share someone else’s information. A private Finance Manager memory is not automatically shared into household replies, but a question you post to a household chat is shared content.

Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, post unlawful material or reveal another person’s private information without authority. Public feedback may be moderated before publication. We may remove or restrict content where reasonably necessary to protect people, investigate a report or comply with law. Moderation is not a promise that every message is reviewed or that inappropriate content can never appear.

Report problems through the available app controls or support. If a restriction is applied to your account or content, you can ask for the reason and a review, except where providing details would create a security risk or be unlawful.

11. Your content and VULT’s intellectual property

You retain the rights you hold in the information and content you provide. You grant VULT only the permission reasonably needed to host, process, transmit, display and make operational copies of it to provide the features you use, handle your requests and meet applicable obligations. This is not a transfer of ownership or permission to publish your private budget as advertising. Sharing and public feedback involve disclosure as described above.

VULT’s software, branding, interface, artwork and original site content are owned by or licensed to its operator. Your membership permits personal, lawful use of the service; it does not transfer those intellectual property rights. Third-party components remain subject to their applicable licences. Do not copy or redistribute protected material beyond what a licence or the law permits.

12. Fair use and security

Do not gain unauthorised access, interfere with other users, introduce malicious code, impersonate another user, evade membership or usage limits, or overload services. Do not use automated extraction or reverse engineering to bypass access controls or misuse protected services. This does not prohibit conduct that applicable law or an applicable open-source licence expressly permits.

Usage limits protect service availability and cost. We may apply proportionate technical measures to prevent abuse, but will not use them as a reason to deny a remedy required by law. Contact support if a legitimate use is being blocked.

13. Availability, changes and ending access

Services may be interrupted for maintenance, connectivity problems, provider outages or security incidents. We do not promise uninterrupted access or error-free automated outputs. We remain responsible for obligations that cannot be excluded by law, including the standard of care applicable to the service.

We may make reasonable changes for security, compatibility, legal requirements or product improvement. Where a change materially reduces a paid service, we will provide appropriate notice and address cancellation, consent or refund rights required by law. These terms do not give us an unrestricted right to remove a paid feature without an appropriate remedy. Urgent security or legal action may need to happen before notice is possible.

Access may be restricted or ended for a serious breach, non-payment after an appropriate opportunity to resolve it, a security risk or a legal requirement. Where practicable, we will explain the issue and provide an opportunity to respond or fix it. Action should be proportionate to the circumstances. You may challenge an error through support. We will not keep prepaid fees for an unprovided service where the law requires a refund.

14. Account closure and data

You can stop using VULT and use the in-app account deletion control or the public deletion route. Export records you want before deleting. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions.

Deletion affects account access and associated cloud records; it does not automatically erase exports, backups outside VULT’s control, local data on every device or another household member’s independent copies. The Privacy Policy explains retention and request options. A legitimate billing, security or legal record may need to be retained; that is not permission to keep unnecessary private budget content indefinitely.

15. Responsibility and limits

You are responsible for the decisions you make and for checking the information you provide. VULT is responsible for its own conduct and the obligations applicable to the service. A warning about user-entered figures or AI limitations does not excuse a failure to exercise legally required care and skill.

Any assessment of responsibility, causation, reasonable mitigation and compensation is subject to applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Your mandatory consumer remedies remain available.

16. Questions, disputes and updates

Contact [email protected] first with the problem and the outcome you are seeking. We will consider it and try to resolve it reasonably. You do not have to give up access to a court, tribunal, regulator or other remedy. Your state or territory consumer protection agency may assist with a consumer dispute; the ACCC provides guidance and accepts reports but does not resolve individual disputes. Privacy complaints are addressed in the Privacy Policy.

Australian law applies to the extent applicable to the service and agreement, without removing mandatory protections where you live. These terms do not require you to bring every dispute in a distant state or submit to compulsory private arbitration. If a provision cannot lawfully apply, it is limited or severed to the extent necessary without removing the remaining lawful terms.

Material changes to these terms will be communicated through an appropriate channel before taking effect where practicable. Changes do not retrospectively remove an accrued right or remedy. Where agreement to a material change is required, continued use alone will not be treated as sufficient regardless of the circumstances. Keep a copy of the version relevant to your purchase.
